Steps To Replace Keyboard For Macbook Pro 2012
Step 1. Remove the cover
Remove 7 Phillips short screws
Remove 3 Phillips long screws
Remove the cover
Disconnect the battery before you begin
Step 2. Disconnect and remove
Remove 3 T 6 fan screws then disconnect and remove the fan.
Disconmect speaker, iSight camera, wifi cable, hard drive, DVD, trackpad, keyboard, the LVDS cable, the battery light indicatior.
Remove 7 T-6 logic board screws
Disconnect the 2 Phillips screws holding the LVDS bracket but leave them in place lift the bracket.
Remove the bracket
Tear the microphone glued to the logic board. This step can not be skipped.
Lift the board up at an angle and flip it over.
Disconnect the
Remove right side seaker Phillips screw
Remove 2 Phillips screws holding the speaker bracket
Lift up and push the speaker over
Remove 3 DVD Drive Phillips screws
Remove the DVD Drive
Trace down and remove the subwoofer
Remove 2 Phillips screws holding the mid wall
Remove 2 Phillips screws holding the power button
Remove power button tape
Pry out and expose the power button
Peal back the 3 back light layers
Remove 51 Phillips screws that hold in the keyboard
Use he guide pins to alighn the back light
Install new keyboard
Reinstall the backlight layers
Reinstall mid wall with 2 Phillips screws
Tuck in the power button. Make sure it is correctly place
Reinstall 2 power button Phillips screws
Place back power button tape
Reinstall the subwoofer
Reinstall the VD Drive
Position the speaker on of the top of DVD Drive
Reinstall the DVD Drive screws
Reinstall 2 speaker bracket Phillips screws
Reinstall right side speaker Phillips screws
Tuck in camer cable along speaker
Step 3. Logic board reinstallation
Reconnect the DC in power board and put the board in at an angle
Make sure to push all cable connections out of the way as you lay in the board
Reinstall the LVDS bracket with 2 Phillips screws
Reinstall 7 T-6 logic board screws
Reconnect the LVDS cable
Reconnect the battery light indicator
Reconnect the keyboard back light
Reconnect the keyboard
Reconnect the trackpad
Reconnect the hard drive
Reconnect DVD driver
Reconnect the wifi cable
Reconnect the speaker
Reconnect the iSight camera cable
Reinstall the fan and tighten 3 T-6 screws
Make sure you go over all your connections before you put on the lid
Reconnect the battery
Reinstall the cover
Install 3 long Phillips head screws first then going reinstall 7 short Phillips head screws
Step 4. Test keyboard
Open your laptop
